March 16th Twinset and Pearls Ladies Club at The Muddy Dog Company, Barrington Court Workshops. invitation only please contact info@muddydogs.com for an invitation.

April  - August Antony Gormley's work 'Field for the British Isles' is to be exhibited in Barrington Court from 30th April-27th August. The installation will cover the entire floor area of three rooms. The artist's aim is that the figures are viewed only from the front and that they extend right up to the threshold of each door.

The workshops are open Monday to Friday 11am until 4pm

Many of you will be thrilled to know that Lance (above) has now finished his student year with The Liquid Glass Centre is now making his fused glass jewellery in our workshop at Barrington Court, he is also working hard to improve his hot glass work by visiting Siddy Langley's studio in Devon www.siddy.com  where he is trying to improve his woblets and stumblers So many of you adore his early attemps of making glass that he is taking orders and his production book is nearly full.  He would like to say a huge Thank You for all the orders and he will be exhibitng at Wambrook Church Christmas Fair opens 10am on 12th November at The Tythe Barn, Wambrook, TA20 3EP. 

We are all participating in Somerset Art Weeks at Barrington Court, Paul at Barrington Pottery has visiting artist Clare Newman who has some amazing detailed pictures which she creates whilst picking up details of her subjects which are usually under her microscope,

Jozef is always very busy and he is working on an amazing project which is a very detailed coat of arms which he is carving out of a huge piece of oak. I think he will be working on it for some time.

Mary Davis has made some beautiful Art Wear which she is exhibiting in my workshop for the first time during Arts week, I think Somerset is giving London Fashion Week some competition. 

Janet East and I are really excited as we have an editorial coming up in the new magazine Handmade Living, Charlotte and Cahterine attended one of our makers workshops a few weeks ago both went home thrilled with their newly found talent and have very kindly written about us in their magazine.  Look out for November issue of Handmade Living on the shelves in W.H.Smith and Newsagents. www.kalmedia.co.uk/shop.php

 My neightbour on the otherside is JOZEF MESAR who uses his woodcarving skills to create stunning commissions and restoration pieces from huge lumps of wood.  He sells desirable wooden hearts, bowls and hand painted jewellery. www.jozefmesarwoodcarver.co.uk
